ECA History

ECA Marketing has roots dating back to 1985. Purchased and re-branded as ECA Marketing in 1997 by Elliott “Hap” Cobb, ECA Marketing is a National Annuity and Life Marketing Organization doing business in all 50 states and several U.S. territories. Since 2006, ECA Marketing has produced over $3.8 Billion in Fixed Annuity Premium and $100 million in Target Life Premium. ECA Marketing Management currently sits on the Field Advisory Councils of six carriers and is one of the country’s largest Independent Marketing Organizations.

In 2006, ECA Marketing was acquired by National Financial Partners. The strategic acquisition of an independent Fixed Annuity specialist company was made to enhance Fixed Annuity delivery and scale for the NFP Member Firms and membership Organizations

NFP, founded in 1998 and publically traded since 2003 on the NYSE, owns 181 firms in 41 states and Puerto Rico. NFP’s corporate focus is Life Insurance and Wealth Transfer, Corporate and Executive Benefits, and Financial Planning and Investment Advisory.

ECA continues to show its dedication not only to the success of our agents and organization today, but we strongly believe it is our obligation to explore options to guarantee our future growth and success. In January, 2007, ECA Marketing acquired DNA Brokerage in West Des Moines, IA. This acquisition brought another 2500 agents to our already large agent base, along with a staff of seasoned marketers, administration, and resources. This has proven to be another successful partnership to continue our momentum of growth.

ECA Annuities

ECA marketing provides annuity products for 10,500 independent agents nationwide and provides the fixed annuity platform for all NFP companies.

Additionally, ECA marketing works with many national producer groups. We provide them with administrative and back office support for over 50 carriers. Our reputation and service model places us as one of the industry’s leaders.

ECA Marketing provides each agent with an individual sales consultant. These sales consultants are part of a team which in turn are a resource for sales ideas and timely communication of industry trends, sales promotions, and the introduction of new hot products.

Our annuity administrative staff will process and overnight your business directly to companies, track 1035 exchanges and transfers, and act as troubleshooters when necessary.
 

ECA Life

ECA Marketing specializes in all traditional life insurance; plus, Business Markets, Estate Planning/Wealth Transfer Concepts, Life Settlements, and Premium Financing.

As an ECA agent, you have access to NFP, one of the largest distributors of life insurance in the U.S. with annual target premium of $600 Million. We provide you with NFP dedicated carrier reps, staff support and underwriters. With over 35 Life Insurance carriers to choose from, you are always working with some of the most competitive carriers and products for your clients’ needs. Our reputation and service model places us as one of the industry’s leaders.

You will have a dedicated life marketing consultant team trained to assist you in advanced case design and implementation. They will personally work with you and your clients to provide solutions for each unique situation.

Elliott "Hap" Cobb
, Chief Executive Officer was a personal producer for 13 years selling fixed and variable annuities and life insurance prior to founding the company. Hap has been o n various President Councils and has been involved with insurance carriers in the proprietary development of several annuity and life products.

Jean Cobb
, Chief Operating Officer, was a regional marketing representative at a ReliaStar company for fixed and variable annuities, life insurance products, and sales systems. Later she worked for First Bank System providing insurance sales training and the implementation of incentive programs at regional banks.

Bob Phillips,
President of ECA Marketing, Inc. and DNA Brokerage  (subsidiaries of NFP)

Bob Phillips has been President of ECA Marketing since 2006 and DNA Brokerage since 2007.  Prior to working with ECA,  Phillips was the National Sales Director for both the Life Brokerage and Non Qualified Plan divisions at Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, IA.  Prior to that, Bob was the eastern divisional VP for Ameritas Variable Life Insurance Company (AVLIC). He also has experience as an external wholesaler of investment  and insurance products. Originally a stockbroker with Legg Mason,  Phillips was the owner and operator of his own financial planning firm and RIA.  Bob has experience in the insurance  and securities industries dating back to 1982.
